Well hello there.
I’m Gundars Mēness, originally coming from Sabile, currently living in Rīga, Latvia. I’m a skater, cyclist, guitarist, chess player, and a locksmith, but more importantly – Software Engineer and enterprise Technology Architect. I enjoy developing software almost as much as I enjoy operations and technology architecture. I love my job with all my heart, and along with the hobbies it has become the main part of my life.
The purpose of this blog is to showcase my thoughts on subjects important to me, subjects I am teaching to developers I work with, and learning from them. Subjects that I would have loved to know about when I first started working with PHP or Python. This blog is launched 22.04.17 to celebrate 10 years of programming, during which I have accumulated opinions on how things are, and how they should be.
I wish to remove that thin line separating theory and practice, but I can’t, I can merely bend it. There are always better developers than me out there, better solutions architects, better scrum masters and what not. They are not me though, so the best I can provide is unique experience, original ideas and strong opinion. Whether that’s good or bad is up to you, reader – the judge, the jury, the executioner.
If I stop writing for few months or years, it’s fine, I’ll be back sooner or later. If the subject of technology gets overpowered by arts or philosophy – it’s still fine, this is a Gundars blog, not a tech blog. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy reading my articles as much as I enjoy writing them, and find them inspiring, or at least useful.
Thank you for stopping by, I wish you a nice day! 🙂
